About Edgewater Marina
Edgewater Marina is the westernmost of Cleveland's lakefront marinas — a compact, city-operated harbor of roughly 350 slips tucked into the southwest corner of the Edgewater Park complex, plus a free public boat launch serving recreational boaters from across the west side.
History
A Working Harbor
The marina was developed in the 1970s as part of a broader state-led effort to expand public boating access on Cleveland's lakefront. It was transferred from state to city operation in the early 1980s, and from city to Cleveland Metroparks management in 2013 as part of the larger Lakefront Reservation transfer.
Unlike the private yacht clubs further east, Edgewater has always been aggressively affordable: it caters to small powerboats, day-sailors, and fishermen rather than the larger vessels of the Rocky River and Shoreby fleets. Winter haul-out storage is available on-site and fills most years.
Today
A Public Access Point
The free double-lane boat ramp remains one of the most-used public launch points on the central Cleveland lakefront. Ramp traffic is heaviest on spring walleye runs and late-summer weekends. A small marina store, the Edgewater Yacht Club clubhouse, and the Edgewater Beach House are all within walking distance.
Slip fees remain among the lowest on the Cleveland lakefront, with a waiting list that typically runs one to two seasons deep.
